Joseph is a member of the Osoyoos Indian Band in south central British Columbia, Canada. The Osoyoos Indian Band lands are some of the most valuable desert lands in Canada. You can see more of this area at: http://www.oib.ca
He went to law school at UVIC in Victoria, B.C. graduating with an LL.B. in 2000.
He then went off to Tucson, Arizona with his wife and two cocker spaniels. At the University of Arizona he attended the Indigenous Peoples' Law and Policy Program, achieving a LL.M. as a result.
While in Arizona and attending the U of A, he also accomplished a M. A. in American Indian Studies.
His work over the years has been rooted in his community. He worked for many years as a lands and estates officer with various Indian Bands.
His keen interests in law and Indigenous Peoples provided him the background to develop methods of improving the goverance issues most First Nations have to deal with on a daily basis.
